Yuletide question

Rather than bother the [livejournal.com profile] yuletide moderators, I thought I'd throw this question open to my friends. I did just one sign-up for each fadom I volunteered to write, which means that my result form has some fairly strange pairings on it. Should I go back and sign up again, to avoid getting assigned a "Abel/Cain/David/Deborah" foursome (for example)? I now feel vaguely as if I've volunteered to write all kinds of polyamourous groupings (and unlikely couples), and feel yet again somewhat out of step with the rest of fandom for being so strongly character-oriented, rather than pairing-oriented.

As I volunteered to write something like 24 fandoms, in the end, it would be a bit of a pain to go back and redo the process.

Um. Unfortunately, if you sign up for six characters in a fandom, you've signed up to write any requested mix (up to six) of those characters. *If requested*. That's the important part. But yeah, it's under the instructions. If you can't write them in those groupings, then you need to do Bible: Cain, Abel, and Bible: David, and Bible: Deborah (3 different Bible offers) to use your example. I had to read through my email form pretty carefully going, 'yeah, I could come up with something for that group, that group, hey that group would be neat, um, yeah, probably for that pair...'

Sorry to have to tell you that you're stuck with the PITA part, but I think you are. *If* you can't come up with anything to write for a pairing.

Have some caffeine. I think we're gonna want it.

You have to use the characters; you don't necessarily have to do the sex. Try, sure. But if it doesn't work, it doesn't. As I understand it. But then, I'm looking forward to having my brain stretched by this.

Yeah, I made the same mistake. And I signed up for 40-odd fandoms. I've decided I'm just too damn lazy to fix it, and I'll go with the luck of the draw. But you can certainly correct by resubmitting.

I also didn't bother splitting mine out. I figure a) it's unlikely that I'll get anything truly crazy, and b) if I do, it's just part of the challenge.

Well, looking at it from the other side, the people who sign up are warned that they may not get exactly what they request. If someone really wants "Abel/Cain/David/Deborah", they ought to realize that not everyone will be willing or able to write it.

Plus, there's a whole lotta room between getting people in the same room and getting them naked. ;-) Viva subtext.
