I'm terribly jealous of all of you who have a long weekend. But the end is in sight: on Sunday I leave for the last of my campus visits. In the meantime, here's a short fannish meme.
First Online Fandom: Highlander, I guess (and let me yet again thank
gryphonrhi for preserving me from the madness thereof).
Current Online Fandom: Alias, mostly.
First Fandom Crush: Since online was not my first time around, Luke Skywalker. Why yes, I am deeply pathetic, thank you all very much.
Current Fandom Crush: Jack. Arvin. Sark.
First Fanfic Pairing You Wrote: Hm. In a finished, posted story, Krycek/Other. But there was a certain amount of Luke/Mary Sue committed to paper once upon a time, which I think predates the "unfortunate Lost Boys phase," and some other meanderings best left to the obscurity of the ages.
Last Fanfic Pairing You Wrote: In a finished story? Jack/Sark. (Look out, Hell! Here I come!) In progress, Syd/Lauren for the slashficathon. In Latin, Octavianus/unnamed female.

Really, though, this is to tell you I'm so glad the end is in sight for your interviews, and that I'm counting down to spring break so I can finish Lymond.
And also, someday I need to get my act together with you and we can think about Jack/Irina Asiriel/Mrs. Coulter parallels.

And yes, it's very unfair that higher education doesn't get the day off.
Re:
It helps immeasurably that Queen's Play doesn't end on much of a cliffhanger note, or, really a frustrating one. I left it wanting to know what came next, but not as desperate as I was with say, Pullman.
And on a more random note, though I share many of the common squicks regarding litfic, it is amazingly tempting to write fic with more of Christian Stewart. She rocked my socks off, to go teenage for a moment.
