(no subject)

In my attempt to keep from thinking about my Yuletide story (let alone writing it!) I spent yesterday evening teaching myself to crochet from videos on YouTube. So far I have figured out the chain, and the single crochet stitch, and am planning to learn double crochet tonight. Really.

At least I think I know what I'm trying to say in the story now...

Heh. Now the question is: have you found Ravelry yet?

The other question is if you're using English or American terminology. If it's the latter, you've learned English double crochet and are about to tackle treble crochet. Just a tip in case you pick up any crochet books locally and get confused. :)

(PS: Once you learn double/treble crochet and 2double/trebletogether, you can make this (http://attic24.typepad.com/weblog/neat-ripple-pattern.html)!)

Crocheting! I learned entirely off the internet a few years ago, and there were ups and downs. If you want help, advice, or just to flail, let me know. And then you too can read patterns that look like math problems to anyone else. :)
