Dear Crossovering Creator
Dear Crossovering Creator,
Thank you so much for writing for me! I've requested crossover fiction for all of these because what I like best is to see characters from different universes interacting. I don't care if you want to handwave the mechanism that gets the characters together, write lots about it, or just assume that the canons have existed in the same universe all along. I particularly like it when characters who are similar, or are in similar situations, or have similar problems, are thrown together, but I don't need them to actually talk about any of that! It's the dramatic irony part of the crossover interaction that I really love.
Most of what is below is an expansion on the information in my sign-up.
Likes: In terms of shipping, I like f/f, m/m, and het, but I am also happy with gen for any of these requests. I don't read a lot of fanfic porn, so I would be happy if there was no explicit sex. I love plotty stories where the characters have adventures, and I love happy or at least hopeful endings.
DNW and dislikes: I DNW A/B/O and D/s type dynamics, PWPs, non-canon incest, onscreen harm to children and character bashing; if you don't like a character, leave him or her out. There are a couple specific ships I DNW: Thomas Nightingale/Peter Grant and Andy Dalziel/Peter Pascoe -- both of them hit my superior/inferior squick hard.
Request 1: 12 Monkeys/HL
I love pretty much everybody on both shows, so I didn't pick any particular characters here -- write what you want! explore minor characters and villains if you want! All I really want is to see characters from both shows interacting, perhaps during one of the splinters to the past, or perhaps in the post-plague future. Cole spends a lot of time in New York, through the years -- maybe he meets up with Connor? Maybe someone mistakes Ramse for an immortal. Maybe Methos and Duncan have survived the apocalypse? Maybe someone has to team up with Amanda to steal something very important. Maybe Kronos and Olivia team up to bring on the apocalypse. You know they want to.
Request 2: 12 Monkeys/Doctor Who/Lymond Chronicles
12 Monkeys/Doctor Who: I just want to see two sets of time travellers interacting. What would Jones think of the Tardis? What would the Doctor make of her machine? What would Jennifer do if she got her hands on a Tardis (I would LOVE to see her team up with River to take on the universe and just have fun)? I can't help feeling that the Doctor would disapprove entirely of the Splinter Project, and of Jones in particular.
Dr Who/Lymond Chronicles: I would love to see a teamup between Marthe and either River or Missy, or really, any time traveler who is willing to rescue Marthe from her storyline. Or Francis and Philippa have to team up with a Doctor and Companion to save the world, or the Tardis crash lands at Flaw Valleys, or St Mary's. Canon divergence is fine here, if you'd like to do that.
Lymond Chronicles/12 Monkeys: I have given somewhat less thought to the interactions here, but not because I would love this crossover less. One of the Lymond Chronicles characters is a primary? As above, Francis & Philippa & Cassie & Cole team up to save the world? Marthe runs away from Jerott and joins the army of the 12 Monkeys? Go wild! I guarantee that I will love it. Canon divergence is fine here too! I know that you can't splinter back as far as the 1500s (at least, not without a tether) but you could either handwave that or involve Titan.
I should add that my DNW of harm to children has a Lymond Chronicles-specific exemption, which is if you want to deal with Khaireddin's storyline. Maybe, I don't know, he could be rescued by time travel?
Request 3: Rivers of London/Captain America
I'd love to see the character interactions here -- either in the present of the two canons, or back in WW2. I suppose I'd be particularly interested in something that compares Thomas' experience of being a person out of his own time to that of Bucky or Steve but I'd really be interested in anything you could do here. Maybe they met before, and meet up again in the present? I've watched Agent Carter, so if you'd rather write something set at the start of the cold war, or later, involving Peggy and either Thomas or Varvara that would be great as well.
Request 4: Rivers of London/Dalziel and Pascoe
This must be quite a long shot in terms of requests, which is why I hesitate to suggest any characters -- if you've signed up to write this you probably have your own ideas here! But I would love anything where the characters of the two shows interact. I'm sure the Folly is on Dalziel's list of Funny Buggers, despite Nightingale also appreciating rugby. Maybe Wield and Stephanopoulos know each other. Maybe Peter and Peter have to team up to obfuscate some sort of magical situation with bureaucratic language? I'm sure there is something odd going on somewhere in Mid-Yorkshire which the Folly needs to investigate!
Request 5: Thor/Vorkosigan Saga
The most obvious form of this crossover to me is the one where the survivors of Ragnarok end up in the Vorkosigan universe, and have so settle somewhere! Do they end up on Sergyar? Do they find a planet for themselves somewhere else? The politics are going to be awkward at best -- maybe Ivan and Tej have to go be the first ambassadors? Or maybe Miles has to negotiate everything? Or maybe Loki ends up in the Vorkosigan universe and has to make a place for himself (OK, Miles vs. Loki, or a Miles and Loki teamup, would be great, and I say this as someone who doesn't even like Loki more than all the other characters). You may choose to ignore what happened in Infinity Wars, or you can include it for extra angst. Or you can pretend that everyone came back to life!
