Yeah, for some reason the "bad writing" out didn't really work for me. boofadil got me thinking above tha.t some of it is down to Jensen Ackles being a pretty good actor, so when he's playing Dean, you really believe that it's Dean, and he's been working hard all season. So, you know, it becomes hard for me to use the metatextual excuses for the character.
