I just know that I'm full of love for this show and I'm saving to buy both series asap - haven't seen the second yet (I'm missing it on the BBC obviously!)...and sadly, I'll admit to not really paying attention to the historical veridicity (gosh is that a word in English?), but feeling all the mixed emotions I used to feel when I first read De Bello Gallico...I like the Caesar they have brought to life, it reminds me of the one I used to imagine...and the relationship between Pullo and Vorenus screams 'slash' to me...and I like all the plotting about the future of the Republic...my history days are long gone (can't believe I used to translate Cicero, and get top marks for it, too!), but I love reading your much more focused observations about it. Maybe I'll be able to write sensibly about it once I have the dvds and I can concentrate better :)
