This is a fascinating look at family archetypes and a very useful way to look at a family that lives very much in a military formation - unlike a modern military family, the battle is not a career, but their entire lives.

Thank you. And yes, I think it's telling that the military identity isn't something they put off at the end of the day, or at the end of a specific period of time, but rather is what they are. This is especially true of John, but you can see it in Dean and Sam as well.
