L'shana tovah

Wishing you all a year full of sweetness and joy!

I am recovering from a bad cold (the good thing about a very bad cold is that once the worst is over you feel so much better it's almost like not being sick), in the midst of which I have managed a child's birthday party and all the holiday baking, including the challah, and been assured repeatedly that my chocolate cake is very very good.
rhi: A cup of tea, an open book, and a mint leaf to sniff or mark my place. Reading. (reading)

L'shana tovah and get some rest when you can!

L'Shana Tovah! My best friend here just managed her first gluten free challah (a friend of ours has celiac), and thanks to a magical new cookbook it even braided. My dissertation defense is just after Yom Kippur, so I was probably the most High Holidays conscious Catholic in Philadelphia during the scheduling process. I really didn't want it to coincide with holidays since close friends would then have conflicts.
