Um. Saul Tigh. I have a vague memory of finding Tigh interesting but not very likable, in the past. We will put those days behind us. God. When did Saul Tigh become the best character on this show? "We're on the side of the devils." He knows he's damning himself and everyone around him.

Yeah, like you didn't all know I would latch on to that.

And Ellen! Oh, Ellen. "I thought it was because of the twist." Selling everything she has, for something Tigh doesn't want.

Just assume I loved every moment. The direction -- the visual stuff -- they took some real chances, and it worked really well. It was shocking the way, when Homicide first started, the repetition and the camera shake were a little shocking -- but much more so. The beginning and end of hour 1? Especially the last moment? I was... I mean, I didn't know you could do that with TV, that mixture of fragment and nothingness.

The moment that sticks with me now is Zarek and Roslin, talking at the pit. I rather hope Zarek makes it, because it was such a lovely scene, but he was about to push Roslin behind him, just as the firing started, so I have my doubts.

Other random things -- Kasey's injury was staged, wasn't it? I mean, we've never seen a Cylon child. Who knows where she is, mentally. (But does the existence of this supposedly half-human half-Cylon child mean that Boomer's baby is not all that special? or is she special for some other reason?) And also, for Kara -- to put her together with a daughter, after her history of abuse by her mother? and to have the child be injured? It's a masterful piece of manipulation. I wonder whether it's working, or whether Kara is biding her time. I rather suspect the former; she was barely sane at the beginning of tonight's episodes.

And who knew that a Cylon atheist would be more frightening than a Cylon believer?

OK, my attention did wander during the scenes with Lee. But this season I'm finding Sharon and Helo interesting -- when he told her how much the uniform means to him, when she asked Adama how he knew he coult trust her.

I can barely express my love for Tyrol and Gaeta. Gaeta, who will be strung up, who will never be believed; Tyrol, who I do not expect to live through this.


This show is hard. I am so happy that it's back.
