I think this is a very good point -- the first season is not necessarily a good time for a show to expand on its premise. It doesn't mean that the show is going to keep this format forever, but I agree that the show, if it expands, needs to sdo so in an organic manner.
I think that for some viewers, the show's tight focus is an issue -- I mean, I can't think of another show I watch which has quite such a small permanent cast. Most of the shows on TV are ensemble or lead-with-large-supporting-cast.
